Welcome to the SDSHRM Council website! Our 7 Chapters of more than 400 members take pride in their associations, striving to advance the profession. Our State Council is here to encourage and support the local chapters as well as partner with SHRM to support all our volunteers.
My interest in HR started as an employee benefits sales person. A college course that incorporated the SHRM Learning System and a goal to learn more about the HR profession led me to my current position as Risk Manager.
Little did I know when I received my PHR certification that there was a local, state and national association! Since then, I’ve been chair and President of my local chapter AAHRA, and I currently serve as the Director of the State Council SDSHRM.
